He was the son of Joseph Carabine and Elizabeth Ann Carabine of West Hartlepool, Durham, England, and the husband of Evelyn Carabine of Omagh, Co. Tyrone.
Corporal Carabine died on 1st February 1944 aged 26 years old. His grave is in Section III, Row C, Grave 16 of Minturno War Cemetery, Italy. His headstone bears the inscription:
