Able Seaman William John Kirkpatrick Lutton (D/JX 707600) served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. Born on 28th May 1924, he was the third son of William James Lutton and Martha Lutton of 78 Montague Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh.

Able Seaman Lutton died on 12th August 1946 as a result of a 40-foot tall from a 4th-floor window at the British Sailor’s Society, Southsea, Hampshire, England. During the Second World War, he had served on H.M.S. Illustrious.

Able Seaman Lutton’s grave is in Old Ground, Grave 736 of Seagoe Cemetery, Portadown, Co. Armagh. In 2018, his name was a new addition to the Portadown War Memorial, Portadown, Co. Armagh. His headstone bears the inscription:

Thy will be done.
