Sergeant Thomas Leslie of Belfast, Co. Antrim saw action in France and Belgium with the British Expeditionary Force during the Second World War.

Sergeant Thomas Leslie (7006851) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of Thomas Leslie and Mary Ann Leslie (née Loughran) of 32 Mayfair Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim.

Thomas Leslie died on 28th May 1940 aged 37 years old during operations that would bring the Royal Ulster Rifles to Dunkirk. His grave is in Grave 5 of Woesten Churchyard, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. His headstone bears the inscription:

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on him. Our Lady, pray for him. RIP.
