Churchill died on 26th June 1944 in the middle of the Battle of Normandy. He was twenty-two years old and the son of Harry and Jane Churchill of Burnside, Lanarkshire.

Thomas Fisher Churchill’s grave is in Plot XXVII, Row B, Grave 2 in the Bayeux War Cemetery in Normandy. He lies next to two comrades from the same battalion killed on the same day. One of their graves states “known only to God”.
