Rifleman Robert James Moffatt of Belfast, Co. Antrim saw action with 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles as part of the British Expeditionary Force in France and Belgium in 1940.

Rifleman Robert James Moffatt (7013481) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of George W Moffatt and Daisy Jane Moffatt of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

Robert James Moffatt died on 28th May 1940 aged 20 years old during operations that would bring the Royal Ulster Rifles to Dunkirk. His grave is in Grave 1 of Boezinge Churchyard, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. His headstone bears the inscription:
