Leading Aircraftman Ritson Finlay Petts (524461) served in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. Born on 31st October 1914, he was the youngest son of John Jeremiah Petts and Annie Petts (née Finlay) of 2 Castle Lane, Comber, Co. Down.
He enlisted in the Royal Air Force in the 1930s, passing out at the top of his intake. He died on 27th September 1939 aged 26 years while serving with R.A.F. 100 Squadron in Singapore. At that time, the Squadron operated Vickers Vildebeest Torpedo Bombers based at Seletar, Singapore.
