Able Seaman Joseph Scouarnec was a Free French member of the Merchant Navy who travelled much of the world before his death in Belfast, Co. Antrim in 1945.

Gunner James Knox served in 8th (Belfast) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment of the Royal Artillery. He was wounded during action in northern France in June 1940.

Sergeant James Francis Ferguson Kerr was training as an observer with No. 13 OTU when he died as a result of an aviation accident on 21st October 1940.

Major Samuel Britton McConnell saw action in both World Wars with 1st and 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He died in Yenangyaung, Burma in April 1942.

Sergeant Hill Hamilton emigrated to Canada at the age of 23 and served across France and Belgium in the Royal Canadian Infantry Corps during World War Two.
Private John Cecil Verran of Belfast, Co. Antrim died on 9th October 1943 while being held prisoner of war by Japanese forces in camps in the Far East.

Able Seaman Michael Desmond Mulcahy died on 7th October 1941 after contracting dysentry as a prisoner of war. He was on the Japanese transport Lisbon Maru.

Trooper Aaron Smyth served in the Reconnaissance Corps at the time of his death on 3rd October 1944. His grave is in Dundonald Cemetery, Co. Down.
