Flight Sergeant Kenneth John Taubman (424560) served in the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War. Born on 24th October 1921, he was the son of Claude Percival Taubman and the late Mary Taubman (née Burleigh) of Croydon, New South Wales, Australia.
On 22nd February 1943, Kenneth married Patricia Finlay Wallace of Marriekwille, New South Wales, Australia. At the time, his residence was Strathfield, New South Wales, Australia and he held the rank of Leading Aircraftman. The couple spent only 4 days together before Kenneth traveled overseas to serve with the Royal Air Force.
He died as a result of a training accident while flying in an electrical storm on 8th August 1944 aged 22 years old. At the time he served with R.A.F. 290 Squadron.
Kenneth John Taubman’s grave is in Section E, Grave 42 of Eglantine Church of Ireland, Lisburn, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:
Adored husband of Patricia. God giveth his beloved sleep.
