Hugh Beattie

Aircraftman 1st Class Hugh Beattie of Belfast, Co. Antrim died on 5th June 1943 while serving in the United Kingdom with RAF 2738 Squadron in World War Two.

Aircraftman 1st Class Hugh Beattie (1795089) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during World War Two. He was the son of Joseph Beattie and Eliza Jane Beattie (née McClelland) of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

He died on 5th June 1943 aged 19 years old. At the time, he was with RAF 2738 Squadron. Registration of the airman’s death took place in Buckrose, Yorkshire.

Hugh Beattie’s grave is in Section MM, Grave 101 of Carnmoney Cemetery, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim.
