Rifleman George McNeill married Rose Johnston in Belfast before going off to France and Belgium with 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles in the British Expeditionary Force in 1940.

Rifleman George McNeill (7013035) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of George McNeill and Rachel McNeill (née Currie) of Belfast.

Soon after the outbreak of the Second World War, George McNeill married Rose Johnston on 26th October 1939 in Belfast, Co. Antrim. He died on 28th May 1940 aged 20 years old during operations that would bring the 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles to Dunkirk.

George McNeill’s grave is in Grave 2 of Woesten Churchyard, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
