George McNeill

Rifleman George McNeill married Rose Johnston in Belfast, Co. Antrim before going off to France and Belgium with the British Expeditionary Force in 1940.

Rifleman George McNeill (7013035) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of George McNeill and Rachel McNeill (née Currie) of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

Soon after the outbreak of World War Two, George married Rose Johnston on 26th October 1939 in Belfast, Co. Antrim.

George McNeill died on 28th May 1940 aged 20 years old during operations that would bring the Royal Ulster Rifles to Dunkirk. His grave is in Grave 2 of Woesten Churchyard, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
