The private was twenty years old when he died on 28th June 1940. He was the son of Albert John Boyd and Ada Sophia Boyd of Reading, Berkshire, UK.
Donald Boyd’s grave is in Section C, Square 1, Grave 1 of Ballymena New Cemetery, Ballymena, Co. Antrim. The bottom of his headstone bears the inscription: “He Did His Duty. He Could Do No More”.
