Rifleman David Stothers from Heatherbell Street, East Belfast, Co. Down had 8 years service with 1st Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles when he died during Operation Varsity.

Rifleman David Stothers (7013676) served in C Company, 1st Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of David Stothers and Sarah Stothers of 3 Canton Street, Belfast, Co. Down. The family later lived at Heatherbell Street, Belfast, Co. Down.

David died during Operation Varsity on Saturday 24th March 1945 aged 25 years old. At the time, he had 8 years service with the Royal Ulster Rifles.

David Stothers has no known grave. His name is on Panel 8 of the Groesbeek Memorial, Gelderland, Netherlands.
