Flight Sergeant Daniel Archibald Brand (R/119996) served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War Two. Born on 28th September 1919, he was the son of Frederick Brand and Gertrude Brand (née Johnston) of Alberni, British Columbia, Canada.
Daniel enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on 11th August 1941. He died on 20th January 1943 on board Bristol Beaufort L9828. The Mark I plane came down on Collin Mountain, Belfast, Co. Antrim. Warrant Officer Ronald Joseph Buckmaster may have died in the same incident. The crew from RAF No. 5 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit crashed in poor visibility due to fog over the Belfast Hills.
