Civilian Beatrice Harriett Maude Chambers died on 18th December 1942 aged 24 years old. Born on 15th February 1918, she was the daughter of Mrs. G Stevenson of The Knockans, Finvoy, Ballymoney, Co. Antrim. She was the wife of Lieutenant Ralph Lionel Chambers of the King's African Rifles.
Beatrice lived at East View, Willingdon Road, Eastbourne, Sussex. The 1939 Register listed her as Beatrice Stevenson, a chiropodist living in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. She volunteered as an Air Raid Precautions Ambulance Attendant. Her death occurred at her workplace at Dr. Scholl’s on Terminus Road, Eastbourne, Sussex.
Her name is on the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour at St. George’s Chapel, Westminster Abbey, London.
