Andrew Fullerton

Rifleman Andrew Fullerton of Gilford, Co. Down died between 29th May 1940 and 2nd June 1940 during the British Expeditionary Force's retreat to Dunkirk.

Rifleman Andrew Fullerton (7013832) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of Joseph Fullerton and Mary Fullerton of Loughrans, Gilford, Co. Down.

He died between 29th May 1940 and 4th June 1940 aged 21 years old. At this time, the Royal Ulster Rifles held the rearguard for the British Expeditionary Force retreat to Dunkirk.

Andrew Fullerton’s grave is in Section 1, Row AA, Grave 7 of Bleuet Farm Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. His name is on the Gilford War Memorial, Gilford, Co. Down. His headstone in Belgium bears the inscription:

Thy will be done.
