During the Second World War, S.S. Bereby ran aground off the coast of Ardglass, Co. Down. The British Army unloaded the stranded equipment and supplies.

On 9th October 1941, the British Army used cranes and landing craft to unload supplies and equipment from the standed S.S. Bereby off the coast of Ardglass.
