On 17th February 1942, Mr. John G. Winant (U.S. Ambassador for Britain) arrived in Northern Ireland. His visit last two days and took him to Sunnylands Camp.
On 17th February 1943, a series of photographs by Lieutenant J.R. Bainbridge showed the extent of the ongoing development at Larne Harbour, Larne, Co. Antrim.
