On 16th August 1946, a boating accident on the River Bann in Portadown, Co. Armagh resulted in the death of a soldier from 2nd Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles.

New Bren Gun Mountings

On 16th August 1941, Lieutenant J.R. Bainbridge took a series of photographs showing a new type of Bren Gun mount on a Beaverette Armoured Car in Northern Ireland.
