On 25th February 1946, a Dakota piloted by Denzil Jacobs landed at Nutts Corner, Co. Antrim. Onboard were 25 Jewish refugees seeking a safe haven in Ulster.
On 25th February 1946, a further 25 young Jewish refugees arrived in Northern Ireland. Denzil Jacobs was the pilot of an R.A.F. Douglas Dakota that landed at Nutts Corner, Co. Antrim. The crew departed from Prague in the former Czechoslovakia.
From the airfield, the Jewish refugees travelled onwards to the Resettlement Farm at Millisle, Co. Down. They joined other new arrivals who landed at Sydenham Airfield, Belfast on 24th February 1946. Another group would land at Sydenham Airfield on 27th February 1946.
