The Belfast Telegraph Spitfire Fund

During 1940, thousands of people and businesses across Northern Ireland contributed towards a Spitfire Fund responding to a campaign in the Belfast Telegraph.

The Enniskillen Spitfire was constructed thanks to finances raised by residents of the Co. Fermanagh town as part of the Belfast Telegraph Spitfire Fund in 1940.
